Tetris Returns

The Tetris is back! Tetris returns is an amazingly addicting game as close to an original as it can get. After 40 years, Tetris is still one of the most played and most searched terms on the Internet. It's a classic and it seems that it's not going anywhere. I just hope you will be able to play it unblocked and free on our site, from school or work. So, Tetris has returned, something like 'Batman Returns' only better!

How to play? Do I really need to explain the rules? Well, OK. Tetris is of one of the first games, invented by some Russian guy (Alexey Pajitnov) back in the 80s, which makes this game almost 40 years old. There is an empty area with a single block falling down from the ceiling. You may rotate it or speed it up, so the block keeps moving downwards unstoppable (as would normally gravity make it go like that) until it touches the floor.

Then, it's down, for good. You can't either move or rotate it once it touches the floor. But, as the new blocks come along, you should try to fit in their shapes and get them as close one to another as possible, until you make a row, a line which interconnects the vertical walls on the sides. The point is, once you do that, the line or the lines will 'explode', i.e. those block parts will vanish. The idea is to clear up the level by keep destroying as many blocks until new ones stop coming in.

Generally, the game is played endlessly, although it is divided into levels, where new ones just keep coming and coming. In some versions of Tetris, block speed up with the levels, which makes this game unbeatable after a certain point. So, it's worth noting that these time wasters, or time killers as they call them, were not meant to lead the player to a resolution point. They just keep playing until they had enough of it.

Controls: Left and right key to move the block horizontally. Up arrow key to rotate. You can rotate only in one direction - clockwise. Hit space for pause as after hours of play, you might need one. To speed up the falling block, keep pressing down arrow key. I really doubt anyone would actually need these instructions. I mean - it's Tetris, right?
